This classic climb is placed in the heart of the cairngorms inĀ Coire an Lochain. Savage slit has been on the to do list for a long time and I jumped at the chance to get to go climb it.

It was Laura’s choice of route and Savage slit seemed a good enough choice even it is was on the only crag not in the sun, yes it was freezing. This impending corner extends for approximately 50m, unrelenting in style and exposure. The very depths of the mountain itself can be seen and the cold seeped out to take the heat away from any climber or belayer who cared to stay there any length of time.

We managed to blast up this climb in 2 pitches and abseiled off. This left us with enough time to reset the gear and climb Fall out corner, another classic which goes at VS 4b.
